How Tuff Crowd made $100K in the first hour of a launch
How we ran one of Tuff Crowd's biggest drops: a pre-launch waitlist, launch-day ads and a stress-tested checkout. 600+ orders and $100K in the first hour.
About Tuff Crowd
Tuff Crowd is a luxury streetwear label founded in 2018 by former NBA player Brandon Jennings. It's known for limited drops and collaborations, including a collection with Stephen Curry's Curry Brand.
The challenge
A limited drop lives or dies in its first hour. Demand has to be built before launch day, the ads have to be live at the right moment, and the store has to stay up when everyone arrives at once. For one of Tuff Crowd's biggest drops, all three had to work.
What we did
- Pre-launch waitlist. We built the hype before launch day with a waitlist, so fans were ready to buy the moment the drop went live.
- Launch-day ads. We ran the paid ads for the launch.
- Checkout stress-testing. We tested the store and checkout under heavy traffic before launch, so it could take hundreds of orders at once.
The results
When the drop went live, everything held up: more than 600 orders and $100K in revenue in the first 60 minutes.
